Sizzling Hen Mama at Blue Level on the ABC New York Information – GreaterSayville
Hot Chicken Mama, the Blue Point hotspot that popped up last month and serving Nashville-inspired spicy chicken, grabbed the Big Apple’s attention this week.
ABC News Channel 7 interviewed the owners and featured the restaurant in a Friday report detailing how the owners team’s quarantine dream came true.
“Opening a store during a pandemic was very scary,” said Nick Petro, one of the owners, on the news segment. “We were convinced of our product and really believed in it. It was scary, but we were very confident. ”
Hot Chicken Mama opened on January 15th and settled in the spot Beyond Philly had left behind when it closed in October. The idea for the restaurant was invented during quarantine by Petro, general manager at South Shore Dive in West Sayville. and his friends, Bobby Gulinello, who owns The Cortland on Bay Shore; and Joe Esposito.
The new joint pays homage to Nashville-style hot chicken. The dishes offer six degrees of spiciness: Homestyle (a non-spicy version), Easy (a mild spice), medium, hot, loud and finally extra loud.
Hot Chicken Mama is located at 168 Montauk Highway and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
