New York Yankees Information: Yankees Land O’Day, Ask About Hader

ESPN: The Yankees signed another free agent yesterday and signed veteran Darren O’Day to a one-year contract plus an option. The 38-year-old is a familiar face to Yankee fans having spent most of his career with the Baltimore Orioles. While he’s obviously on the older end of the aging curve and has struggled with injuries for the past few seasons, his pinpoint control should result in an increase in depth in the Yankee bullpen.

NJ.com | Randy Miller: If the Yankees are to make another splash this winter, one of their main targets should be the brewers’ relief ace, Josh Hader. The price would be sky high, but a left-handed player with Haders skills would probably make the Yankees the best auxiliary corps in baseball. It may be a long way, but the brewers seem to be listening to offers.

Yankees Twitter: Yeah, yeah, it’s a couple of tweets, but late January is slow news time. The deal with Adam Ottavino helped clear the 40-man roster flood a bit, which meant the Yankees could officially announce the signing of DJ LeMahieu and Corey Kluber. Another roster slot must be opened for O’Day. So expect another smaller transaction soon.
