New York Philharmonic Launches On Demand Streaming Service | leisure

NEW YORK (AP) – The New York Philharmonic launched an on-demand video and audio streaming service called NYPhil + on Monday, which is available for $ 50 per year or $ 4.99 monthly.

The first choices include David Lang’s “Prisoner of the State” and Julia Wolfe’s “Fire in My Mouth”, both with music director Jaap van Zweden, as well as a new concert with the conductor David Robertson and the pianist Emanuel Ax.

The selection includes five decades of PBS shows “Live From Lincoln Center” and Facebook shows.

There is no first selection in which Leonard Bernstein, the music director of the Philharmonic from 1958 to 1969, is involved.

New programs will be added in the coming months.

The Philharmonic suspended major live concerts in March last year due to the new coronavirus pandemic.
