New York COVID Positivity Charges Fall, New Vaccination Facilities Maintain Open – CBS New York
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Governor Andrew Cuomo just announced the lowest COVID positivity rate for a day in New York since November 23.
As vaccinations go up and away from busy holidays, New York State COVID numbers are falling.
The statewide positivity rate decreased to 3.06%, and the positivity rate for New York State has decreased for 43 consecutive days.
At a new pop-up vaccination center at Harvest Fields Community Church on East Tremont Avenue in the Bronx, a line snaked around the block. It is one of 13 vaccination sites the state is opening this week with a seven-day goal of shooting 3,800 people in the arms.
“I brought at least one book with me,” said a woman in line.
“Now we just hope they have enough vaccine,” said one man.
Nationwide, almost 42 million people have received at least one dose of vaccine.
But one catch in the last week was the weather. Heavy storms disrupted shipping and canceled appointments.
Officials say all 50 states are affected, with 6 million doses being delayed due to the weather.
People keep trying to get gunshots, and “where to get the vaccine?” Has been the most Googled term in America in the last month.

A new vaccine distribution operation is carried out through wholesale giant Costco. The retailer will soon offer the vaccine in five states, including New York.
The Costco stores are waiting for a lot of Moderna shots.
