Kim Kardashian feels “empathy” for Britney Spears after watching the documentary New York Times on Entertainment News
(LOS ANGELES) – Kim Kardashian becomes the latest celebrity to support Britney Spears after watching the New York Times unauthorized documentary, Framing Britney Spears.
In her Instagram Stories Friday, the reality star said after watching the document that she felt “empathy” for the pop singer and related this to her own experiences with tabloids and paparazzi.
“The way the media has played a huge role in their lives can be very traumatic and can really break even the strongest person,” writes Kim. “No matter how public a person’s life appears, no one deserves to be treated with such cruelty or judgment for entertainment.”
Kim goes on to tell of a time in her life when she felt similarly abused by the media – when she was pregnant with her first child, North, and gained 60 pounds from preeclampsia.
“I was shamed weekly with cover stories that made my insecurities so painful that I couldn’t leave the house until months later,” she says. “It really broke me.”
She adds that she was ultimately able to turn her emotions into motivation, but that it was mentally stressful. Kim concludes by encouraging everyone to show “understanding and compassion”.
“You just never know exactly what someone is going through behind the scenes, and I’ve learned from my own experience that it’s always better to lead with kindness,” she writes.
