Ella Emhoff, stepdaughter of US Vice President Kamala Harris, made her fashion debut for Proenza Schouler’s Fall-Winter 2021 collection in New York

NEW YORK: U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris’s stepdaughter Ella Emhoff made her catwalk debut in a video released Thursday, a month after her outfit went viral at the President’s inauguration.

The 21-year-old Emhoff walked on the catwalk for the Proenza Schouler label as part of New York Fashion Week.

The parade was filmed a few weeks ago, with the coronavirus pandemic ruling out a traditional show.

Emhoff wore three different looks for Proenza Schouler: a long gray jacket with matching pants, a black trench coat and a dark pants suit.

“That was my first fashion experience,” said Emhoff during a conversation with two Proenza Schouler designers on the New York Fashion Week website.

“I have to say I was a little nervous. I definitely lost some sleep the night before.”

Emhoff is the daughter of Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff and his first wife Kerstin Mackin.

Ella Emhoff signed with the renowned modeling agency IMG Models in late January after wearing a Miu Miu coat at Joe Biden and Harris’ swearing-in ceremony.

The last year student at the Parsons School of Design in New York is also a knit designer.

On Thursday, she released a collection of five items, including two sweater vests and a long striped dress.

Only one of each item was made and quickly sold out on the Mall website, an online marketplace for aspiring designers.
