ITZY was named Maybelline New York’s first global K-pop spoke model
If you’ve never got one before ITZY Song is in your head, you’re in. Maybelline New York I just announced the K-Pop group as their newest global spoke model, so ITZY will really be everywhere. Not only are Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna the first K-pop stars to represent Maybelline, but they also form the first musical group to ever do it, believe it or not. With this historic milestone in their careers, they join Gigi Hadid and Storm Reid as the faces of the brand. Can you imagine all seven in one photo? The thought is too much for our brain.
Since debuting in 2019, ITZY has always given her performances and music videos fun, bold liners and playful, glittery eye makeup looks. Therefore, we were only slightly surprised by this announcement. Back in January, Lia told Allure, “A big part of the performance is of course the dancing and facial expressions, but the styling is also a very big part because it sets the mood of the song.” Ryujin even revealed that she loves experimenting with makeup when she’s bored at home and brushing bright blushes down her cheeks. Needless to say, this partnership is basically kismet.

“I watched ITZY’s inspirational rise and was thrilled with how dynamic they are both as a group and as an individual,” said Trisha Ayyagari, Maybelline New York’s global brand president, in a statement. “ITZY is committed to self-love, individuality and self-expression towards its fans and the global community.” We could no longer agree. Just listen to “WANNABE” and you will understand why this message only makes sense.
ITZY will begin their new look by branding Maybellines Best of Beauty Award winning Hyper Easy Liner, Ultimatte Lipstick and SuperStay Foundations campaigns in Asia this spring. We can’t wait to see how daring the campaigns look. We also keep our fingers crossed for a special ITZY x Maybelline collection that Gigi Hadid once adorned us with.
