Curve Intimate Apparel Trade Show return to New York IRL

Curve is making its comeback in real life.

The intimate apparel and swimwear show has announced plans for the next in-person event. The exact location has yet to be determined, but Raphael Camp, CEO of Eurovet Americas, the company that hosts Curve, said it will be held somewhere in New York City between August 1-3.

“We are confident that we will be organizing a great Curve show in a new place where both buyers and brands will feel safe and happy to meet in person and do business again,” Camp told WWD.

Curve produces trade shows in Paris, Montreal, Los Angeles and some parts of China, as well as shows twice a year at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan. The last two in-person New York shows (September 2020 and February 2021) have been canceled due to coronavirus concerns.

Instead of the live events, Curve started the virtual lingerie fair Curve Connect. The digital platform showcases a range of interior clothing and swimwear brands and enables retailers and buyers to further network, plan virtual one-on-one meetings, view new collections online and listen to panel discussions.

In the post-pandemic world where trade shows are becoming a combination of live and digital events, Curve Connect users will still be able to access the digital tools, according to Camp.

“People will use our online platform to prepare for in-person trade shows, reach people, connect with them, and get set up [live] Meet before attending an event, ”he said. Users can also access previous webinars and continue to view collections before leaving home.

“I see Curve Connect as a complementary tool,” said Camp. “And we will certainly be following all New York City safety guidelines as we plan our next in-person event in August.”

These include deep cleansing, face masks, temperature checks, and on-site physical distancing requirements.

Curve is just one of many trade shows in the fashion industry that announce in-person events when vaccines are rolled out nationwide.

The story goes on

In addition to a number of digital events, Informa stores – what trade produces Events such as MAGIC, Coterie, Project, MICAM Americas and Sourcing at MAGIC held a “MAGIC Pop Up Orlando” with limited capacity in February.

In August, MAGIC Las Vegas will host a three day personal show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The following month the Coterie show is scheduled to take place at New York’s Javits Center.
