COVID NY Replace: New York tops 1 million constructive COVID-19 exams
NEW YORK – New York State has recorded more than 1 million positive COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began. This comes from figures that Governor Andrew Cuomo released on Saturday.
The roughly 15,000 new positive tests reported nationwide on Friday bring the total number of cases to over 1 million, according to the state. Experts say the official number of coronavirus cases is significantly outnumbered, as many people in the New York City area were infected with the coronavirus last spring when the tests were largely unavailable.
New York is the fourth state, after California, Texas, and Florida, to report more than 1 million positive COVID-19 tests. New York reported 128 COVID-19 deaths on Friday.
