COVID-19: NY Restaurant, Bar Restoration Fund utility course of opens
With thousands of restaurants and bars across New York closing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Monday January 11th will be the day they can apply for help from the Restaurant Recovery Fund “Raising the NYS Bar”.
The fund, made possible by financial donations from Diageo North America and supported by Coastal Pacific Wine & Spirits, is implemented by the non-profit National Development Council.
With more than $ 3 million, many restaurants or bars could get up to $ 5,000 to help them with the pandemic.
The fund is designed to help eligible restaurants adapt their operations to the effects of COVID-19 and comply with government health and safety measures during the winter months when outdoor dining is limited.
The funds can be used for COVID-19 related improvements and equipment that will enable the company to adhere to social distancing guidelines, expand take-out / delivery operations or outdoor meals such as plexiglass barriers / partitions, signage for promotion Social distancing and hygiene include logs, heaters, heat lamps, weather enhancements and insulated delivery bags, the fund said.
Initial grant funding will be awarded based on applications received and distributed independently by NDC, a seasoned national commercial nonprofit that has been operating since 1969.
