A trip on the Baccarat Resort New York

It always feels like a party at the Baccarat Hotel New York. As befits the legendary flagship of the French crystal company, the hotel shines from its prismatic glass facade to its interior, adorned with ornate chandeliers, silk and mica wall coverings, bespoke baccarat pieces, and splashes of fine jewel tones. including the signature red. When my regular winter travel plans were put on hold this year, the Midtown Manhattan hotel seemed like the perfect place for a festive getaway – especially as it offers new packages and experiences to help guests get in the holiday mood.

Baccarat is one of only a handful of luxury New York City hotels that are currently accepting bookings. It reopened in October with new security protocols. It was also the first New York hotel to receive the Sharecare Health Security VERIFIED® seal of approval after meeting over 360 global health security standards. The changes include a new requirement that guests must reserve a time to use the pool and gym. Given the hotel’s reduced capacity, it will ensure that you often have the seats to yourself. I took the opportunity to be in one of the few hotels in town with a full-length pool and booked a spot to swim in the marble-tiled sanctuary, followed by some downtime in one of the cozy cabanas and a massage in the adjoining spa La Mer using La Mer products in their treatments. (Currently, masks are required for both therapists and clients during worship.)

While the popular Grand Salon Lounge and the popular restaurant are currently closed, the hotel offers meals in the room until 2:30 p.m. every day, as well as a nice new Christmas brunch with a three-tier tower of sweet and savory appetizers, coffee or tea, and a bottle of champagne and a small white Christmas tree to spice up the table landscape. (The brunch must be ordered at least one day in advance and booked for a specific delivery time.) For security reasons, the hotel has removed the minibar items from the rooms (although the beautiful baccarat glasses are retained). Instead, you can request a “mobile” minibar with gourmet snacks and fine spirits, wines and champagne.

The story goes on

With the city’s indoor restaurant on hold again, the concierge can make suggestions for nearby locations that are open for takeout and delivery. But for those who miss the Alsatian cuisine from the hotel’s culinary director, Chef Gabriel Kreuther, I would recommend ordering from his eponymous restaurant with two Michelin stars (available through the Caviar app). My dinner with dishes such as a mixed green autumn salad, Alsatian onion quiche, grilled broccoli raven and perfect macarons was brought to my suite by the hotel staff along with fine cutlery and crockery – and of course crystal glassware – the experience to take away.

In addition to the decadent brunch service, the new offers for this season offer the opportunity to book the entire 12th floor with 11 guest rooms and suites, which can be reached by a private elevator, for a travel experience. The Maison Privé for the Holidays package also includes the services of a dedicated Guest Experience Manager, a 60-minute spa treatment per accommodation, daily breakfast, a holiday brunch per guest and a welcome with a bottle of Louis de Sacy and a Baccarat crystal gift. The Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday Shopping Experience package, launched just this week, includes a room or suite, $ 100 per day credit, and a day at the iconic department store for two with a private tour of the famous Christmas windows in-person shopping session in a private suite (complete with appetizers and drinks) and a $ 500 Saks Gift Card. To further cater to your gift shopping needs, the hotel can also arrange a VIP experience at the Baccarat Boutique on Madison Avenue with a glass of champagne, a personal shopping advisor and free shipping of all US purchases. Room rates start at $ 745. Contact the hotel for prices for the vacation packages.
